Privacy notice
Last updated [date]
This notice explains what personal information is collected when you visit this site or buy the book, and what happens to it. It is written in plain English. [Have this checked before launch.]
Who I am
This site and the book are published by [Your name], a sole trader based in England. I am the data controller for the information described here. You can contact me at hello@[your-domain].
When you buy the book
Payments are handled by Payhip. When you buy, Payhip collects your name, email address, payment details and location (needed to charge the right VAT). Payhip shares your name, email address and order details with me. I never see or store your card details. Payhip's own privacy policy [link] explains how they handle your information.
I use your details to deliver the book, send you updated editions, answer questions about your order and process refunds. I keep order records for as long as HMRC requires me to keep business records.
When you email me
If you email me, I keep your message and email address so that I can reply. I delete these when they are no longer needed.
When you visit this site
This site does not use cookies or analytics. [Update this section if you add analytics.] The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address. The site is hosted on [Cloudflare Pages], which processes basic technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Marketing
I won't send you marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them, and I will never sell or share your details with anyone else for their marketing.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
